Anyone saying there is no difference between these Norco generics have NEVER taken them, PERIOD! Pharmacist, physician, layman, they are wrong, these medications are not the same!
What I have learned: You must be able to see who the manufacturer is, or ask the pharmacist before you take possession of the prescription! He can get you a different generic! Start using a Mom and Pop pharmacy, they will try to help you much more than the big stores.
How to find the manufacturer? Look below the drug name and drug quantity info. I added photos to explain-(okay, this website is not allowing me to post the photos).
The photo had shown "Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 10-325mg-CAM".
In the above example the CAM refers to Camber Pharmaceuticals, they are the manufacturer. This is an excellent generic, H‑E‑B AND Walmart carried this until last Fall, 2022. It is NO LONGER MADE!

The third photo would also have shown the words "Mfg: AMNEA" this Norco generic is made by Amneal Pharmaceutical. This is THE VERY WORST generic Norco I have used yet! Made by Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC. I was given this in Dec. 2022, it is the worst medication I have ever taken. I now wake up at 3am almost every night in typical withdrawal symptoms. DO NOT ACCEPT this generic Norco from any pharmacy. I have been living hell you couldn't imagine these last few weeks. I couldn't even get off the sofa yesterday. I am 69 years old, I am hoping this information helps others. I am a retired dentist, and I do not want others to suffer this way!
Until I was forced, two months ago, to stop using the Camber brand generic, I enjoyed my hobbies(glass blowing and glass sculpting), I walked for exercise- 1-4 miles, we loved to travel, I cooked all our meals. Today, I do none of those things. All this has happened since Camber pharma stopped manufacturing generic Norco.
I have to agree with the person saying it's time to write your congressmen.
If anyone using long-term generic Norco, knows of a generic that helps you, please please share it here!
NSAIDS helped me for two decades, but now causes intestinal bleeding by the third day. I was doing great using Camber brand Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 325/10mg.
Sorry to say, but they've been discontinued. Pressure from our government has forced many generic companies to stop producing opioids. This will only continue unless we voice our concerns, and they are made to be heard.
You, like myself, and my patients, only found relief in that one medication from a specific manufacturer. I have had a number of patients move on to stronger meds, and in are far worse situations than they were in before. They need to create a mechanism for this low-risk brand to return otherwise more and more people will continue suffering and buying stronger and deadlier drugs
It's my understanding from my dr that if the doctor specifies a brand on the Rx, the pharmacy will get it. Then you don't have to search pharmacies. What if you switch pharmacies and they change the brand anyway? I ran into this with diazepam a few years ago when my pharmacy kept switching brands on me and I could tell the difference! I had to avoid the orange pills and my dr. specified the brand of yellow tabs and I always got the brand she prescribed since then. Good luck and feel better.
