... can anyone help me. I have a problem with sleep. But I think I may need to switch.
I have been on it for a long time. It does work for me. However I also need to look into finding out what other things can replace it if need be. Thanks for all who answer.
I need an over the counter sleep mediation that can replace Trazodone HCI 50 mg for sleep. Please?

Taking magnesium supplements can help to relax you so you can sleep. Women can take 250 mg. Men can take 300 mg. Cut the pill in half. Take half in the morning and the other half at night before bedtime. Magnesium is also good for anxiety, depression and panic attacks as well. Most forms of magnesium in the stores is magnesium oxide.. It does work, but it doesn't absorb as well as magnesium citrate, magnesium glyconate, magnesium taurate, etc. The magnesium taurate has an amino acid that induces sleep and relaxation even better. I order my magnesium supplements on Amazon. But you can order these supplements anywhere online. I hope this helps!
Hi helper,
Have you tried increasing the Trazodone? I take 200-300 mg about 45 min to an hour before bed. Trazodone is the only med that helps me sleep.
There are several herbs helpful with insomnia. I use to use herbs for everything and am going back. Chamomile and valerian root for the treatment of insomnia may help, other herbs effective sleep remedies include passionflower, hops, and lemon balm. I have lemon balm in my garden and it smells so good! :) Also if you try Melatonin I advise you to start with a small dose such as 1 mg as too high of a dose in the beginning of treatment with melatonin can cause sleep problems. I wish you the best!

My husband takes Benadryl regularly for sleep, approved by his doctor. Tylenol PM works for some too, but NOT as a regular thing since acetaminophen can be harmful with long term use.
I take extended release melatonin. There are pills that are a combination of melatonin and kava and valerian root, and they're pretty good, but fairly expensive.
Hi, i would also recommend Melatonin and Valerian, they have worked very successfully in the past. The Valerian takes a while to be effective, but it is worth the wait
