So far I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my lower back and bursitis and arthritis in both shoulders. I still need to get tests on my hips and neck which is also very painful. I've heard good things about Lyrica. Would that help me with my issues? I don't know yet what is causing the all over body pain. I'm playing phone tag with the rhuematologists. Thank you for any advice.
All over body pain, arthritis in shoulders and bursitis too. Will Lyrica help?

My rheumatologist told me that Lyrica/Cymbalta/Savella helps one out of ten people with fibromyalgia, which causes neurological pain, not an arthritis. I'm sorry I have no reference for it to treat arthritis. But your symptoms could indicate the need for evaluation for polymyalgia rheumatica. This is a vasculitis which causes pain all over and stiffness of the shoulders and/or hips. Sometimes it causes a stiff neck or swelling of the hands and feet that is not from the joints.
Thank you ❤️
Hi casperchyna. I hope you will let us know if you have made progress with diagnosis and treatment. So many people with multiple pain syndromes need info and support. Some causes can be improved and finding the right medications is so important. I read about patients who take powerful drugs for years, then realize they feel better getting off them. Polymyalgia rheumatica is not well known or understood. Long-term prednisone is essential for pain relief and protection from circulatory and nerve damage.
