Hi, Thall!
"Peak blood levels are reached within six hours of taking a single dose of oral olanzapine. Effects are long lasting, so olanzapine should be dosed once a day; however, it may take several weeks of continued dosing before a reduction in symptoms is seen."
Whether or not the olanzapine will be helpful for you depends on your individual response to the medication. Because it may cause sleepiness and sedation in some people as a side effect that may lessen your anxiety and depressive symptoms. But overall I'll bet that there's a very good chance it will work for you.
If you have further questions or concerns along the way please feel free to post again.
Best regards and Happy Holidays.
“It can take four to six weeks for olanzapine to show its full effects, but some studies show a good effect for some people within the first week of taking it. You should stay in touch with your doctor to see how it goes over the first few weeks”. Be patient and Keep taking the medication until it kicks in. You will get well soon.
Stay strong & happy holidays,
