I am experiencing numbness and tingling in both my hands, more concentrated on the right, especially the middle finger tip. This is due to diabetes. I have been experiencing this for a few weeks now. It isn't horribly painful, but it is uncomfortable. I will see my doctor this week. Would gabapentin or neurontin help alleviate the numbness and tingling? Are there any good natural remedies in the meantime? Any info or advice will be most appreciated.
Will neurontin and gabapentin help with numbness in fingers due to diabetic nerve damage?

Gabapentin and Neurontin are the same drug. But there are different formulations of them. I found that these drugs do help with the uncomfortable feeling. Take the lowest effective dose.
sfro46; Yes this is very common for this purpose, And no with Diabetes I would not even try anything Natural that really don't have good proof that it well work. Also when you see the doctor ask him or her about Amitriptyline in a low dose it is an antidepressant but in a very big study even before Gabapentin was out they found that many Diabetics got very good relief of pain in legs and hands or numbness while on this medication and it has been out for maybe 50 years so has proven itself to be safe. Good luck my friend.
