I am on 500mg for my arthritis twice a day. Will the naproxen help for the swelling in the ankle as well? Rolled my ankle at work and is swollen, quite sore but not broken.
Is naproxen ok to take for swelling from a sprained ankle along with my arhtritis?

Thomas; Yes Naprosyn is a very good anti-inflammatory to help with the swelling. I just want to make sure at the beginning of your post you say I am taking 500mg for my arthritis twice daily but it sounds like you are taking something else and are asking about taking Naprosyn. You would not take the 2 different pill for your pain and Inflammatory you would take one or the other. not both. if it is a different Medication and you could take the naproxen with some food or milk to buffer your stomach. then don't forget what the poster before me said. Any questions call the pharmacy if you do have 2 different medication or your doctor tomorrow. hope that ankle gets better fast.
Yes Naproxen will help with the swelling, however if the pain and inflammation don't subside within 3-4 days make sure you go see a doctor because it could be more than just a sprain.
