Stopped amlodipine 3 weeks ago. Swelling still severe and gets worse when I spend time on my feet. Doc said it could take months to subside! How long did it take for your swelling to go away? Did anything in particular help? Thx.

I have no experience with that medication however I have plenty of experience with foot and leg swelling! My biggest tip is to GET COMPRESSION STOCKINGS! Preferably custom fit ones with a prescription from your doctor so that you know the size and amount of compression is perfect for you and your needs!!! (If they're too loose, they won't help but if they're too tight, they may cause more damage!)
One of my biggest regrets in life is not getting myself stockings sooner than I did (years!!! ). . . I was in my 20's and felt embarrassed to wear them so I just refused but eventually saw the light and conceded to needing them or otherwise risk more severe problems!! My feet/legs swell (and even up to my lower abdomen too), so much so that my skin stretches until its tight and thin, then it becomes covered in small 'blisters' or little bubbles of fluid trying to get out. Eventually they rupture and I have to bandage my legs (often changing the bandages 2-6 times daily!) Now, about 6 years since I started to need bandages - I'm still dealing with my skin being so damaged, thin and fragile that I have to wear bandages in some places 24/7!! If the skin is not covered, it rips open and fluid drains out constantly, making it very difficult to heal! Even just my pants touching it could make it rip open again! At this rate, I will likely have to do it for the rest of my life too!!
Please do yourself a huge favor and get stockings! The stockings feel very uncomfortable in the beginning however once you get used to them.. they begin to feel AMAZING compared to the pain and discomfort from just the swelling alone!!
Best wishes! I hope you get relief soon!!
