Sorry to say this but, No, pain meds will not work while you are on suboxone. You need to let the Doctor prescribing the suboxone know you need surgery and get them in concert with the surgeon and the Anesthesiologist(sorry about the spelling) so they can work something out. The person who puts you to sleep needs to figure out how to safely put you to sleep on suboxone. Call the Suboxone doc today so you won't have to scramble around and do this last minute. You may have to have a higher dose of Suboxone for your surgery pain. Be prepared to sign a release for the suboxone doctor to release your records to the surgeon and Anes. doctor.
