... chills, sweats dizziness, weakness. My GP isn’t sure of the cause - the mirtazapine or the low dose of clonazepam I have to use during the day? Is it advisable to drop down to 1/2 tablet or 15mg as he has suggested to see if that would help?
Going up was OK but I don’t know about reducing?
I’ve been on mirtazapine 30mg for 40 nights. I’ve had some severe side effects…more anxiety...

Saying you use a GP because psychiatrists don't always take insurance, etc as an excuse for not using one is like using a plumber to hook up your electricity. This is your life we're discussing. If you don't take it seriously, I don't have the time to answer your questions. Good luck.
Agree with masso and Kevin!
Psychiatrists are very expensive and many do not bill insurance. Also, many are not accepting new patients and cannot guarantee success if they do see you. The last one I visited had high reviews but was not good for me. It’s like talking to a lawyer…Ching-Ching every minute and the meds prescribed made me sicker for weeks. I put my trust in my GP who knows me and actually cares. I have improved but still not back to feeling really normal…have to take clonazepam for anxiety during the daytime. I push myself to do things but, I do feel fatigue. I use .25-,50mg of clonazepam a day as needed. By 8:00pm I start to feel less anxious. I hope time will prove to be a healing factor.
Hello
In my humble opinion I absolutely agree with masso, see a specialist, a psychiatrist who is more familiar with these types of medicines.
As far as tapering down... do it very slow.
Best regards

I believe you need to be treated by a specialist, more specifically a Psychiatrist.
Ask your GP to refer you to a specialist which can treat you, with the knowledge a specialist has of any medical field. A Psychiatrist has more experience in this field and can better help you with you taking benzodiazepines and this antidepressant which off-label use treats insomnia.
Wishing you the best, masso
