My girlfriend is allergic to ibuprofen, but has horrible cramps when her menstrual cycle start to the point of barely being able to get out of bed. I got her some Midol Extended Relief, but before she takes them I want to be sure that they do not contain Ibuprofen

Yes some do! Midol Extended Relief I believe contains Naproxen (another NSAID), there are different ingredients in each Midol, there is Midol Menstrual, Midol Complete, etc. One of them DOES contain IBUPROFEN. I just don't remember which one it is. You have to read the ingredients on the box to know which one has Naproxen, which one has Acetominophen (tylenol), and which has Ibuprofen. But yes, I have gotten Midol with Ibuprofen. My periods are extremely painful due to Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome & before I was diagnosed I tried every over the counter pain med there was and I recall taking 3 different Midols with the 3 diff ingredients I mentioned in order to see what worked. I went to planned parenthood when I did not have insurance and due to the severity of my pain they would tell me to take both the one with ibuprofen AND the one with tylenol, or go to the emergency room. I completely understand how much pain she may be in, and the Midol Extended Relief should be ok if she can take NAPROXEN. But be sure that it IS Midol Extended Relief. Take care. I hope she gets feeling better. ~anjeegyrl
Anjee is right. I looked up Midol Extended Relief and it contains Naproxen, which is an NSAID. As she suggests, check the ingredients on the label on the box.
Anaprox DS is a prescription strength Naproxen that was prescribed by many gynecologist for menstrual pain. If she can take naproxen, this product (Midol Extended Relief) should work well for her but be sure to always check the ingredients on the label on the side of the box where it lists the active ingredients.
thanks Dzoo for backing me up :)
anytime! :)
No Midol does not have Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is an NSAIDS which will cause you to bleed more than a non-NSAID. Midol.s ingredients usually are Tylenol for pain and an over the counter water pill for inflammation.
