I have pain in lower back and down both legs. Have been on celebrex for like forever. Always looking for the drug that will help the most. I am also on cymbalta, norco 10-325, horizant and flexerl. Still in more pain than want. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried 15mg of meloxicam, no help at all.
I had 3 epidurals, no help.
The pain is intense down my leg.
PT twice a week
Strength training 3 times a week
Stair climbing 3 days a week for 50 flights each day
Pain intensive
Finally, put on prednisone one week on one week off.
Day 1-3 30mg a day
Day 2-5 20 mg a day
Day 6-7 10 mg a day
Finally RELIEF
Yes, there are risks for long term use. At age 70 I’m not having surgery. The risks are worth the relief.
Doctor prescribes every other week to limit long term side effects.
Okay, I see this question was posted in 2014 if this is right I do hope you're getting some relief. Meloxicam is a pretty good drug but you are already on Celebrex and Norco. I will say this if you're still taking Norco today in 2023 it's very very weak as it has been changed because of lawsuits. I was on Norco for 30 years but after the change, I had to switch to Percocet 10/325 it gives me greater pain relief. Okay God bless you, and I hope you are feeling better
I’ve tried all of the drugs you mentioned. None did very much for the pain. As I await a laminectomy (I’m old and fat so they are not too interested) I have been having slight success with Tylenol Arthritis strength. 650 mg. I use 3-4 per day. It does not erase the pain but gives me some ability to walk. This is gruesome!
I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and the pain was so intense I was put on Vicodin. To back track: one night I coughed and BAM the pain hit right away, and it was at least an 8. It never lessened and I had pain down my right leg. I ended up in physical therapy. My doctor said I might be put in traction and I said "I don't care if they hang me from my toes - the pain is that bad." I was not a good surgical candidate because of other health issues and my age.
My advice for you is find what controls the pain but looking at your meds, meloxicam/mobic won't help. I take cymbalta like you, and now I am on 10/325 Percocet - 80mg./day. I am considered a chronic pain patient as you are too.
All the best, Tony
Its the same type of medication as celebrex, but anything is worth a try if you if you have pain. See what your dr says.
