I take 3mg of Vraylar daily for my bipolar disorder and also have intermittent issues with insomnia. My doctor prescribed me a medication called Mirtazapine(Remeron), which is a Tetracyclic Antidepressant. It is used off label for treating insomnia. I found an article on this website about user reviews for Mirtazapine to treat insomnia and here is some of the information provided. The average user rating out of 10 was a 7.0 based on 416 user ratings. Out of those 416 user reviews, 59% reported a positive experience with the medication.
For me personally, I couldn't be happier with it. I've tried many prescription sleep aids over the years and all of them made me feel like hot garbage in the morning. The Mirtazapine is the only medication sleep aid I've found that doesn't give me any negative symptoms. Obviously everyone is different but it was a game changer for me.
I'm sure that there are others that can be taken with Vraylar but that is something that you will need to consult with your doctor about. Good luck!
Hi, apearl!
I take Vraylar 6mg and Seroquel (quetiapine) 50mg at night . The low dose of the Seroquel works very well for me for sleep with no morning "hangover".
Did you mean prescription or OTC? If OTC you can ask your pharmacist for a product that won't interact with the Vraylar.
