macrobid is an antibiotic, and the othe pill given is for the pressure, burning called pyridium, it makes your shee shee bright orange, if the pain gets worse i say go back to the dr and let him/her know cause left untreated it can travel to your kidney

Within 2 to 3 days of being on Macrobid, my pain is usually resolved. It doesn't take long - just wish the pain would stay gone. ElizaJane23
I usually get relief in 2 or 3 days, but the doctor gives me a prescription for another pill that helps relieve the pressure and burning.
