Having been on that drug for 5 years I developed many side effects. It slowed my breathing down so I was shallow breathing. I suggest you practise breathing exercises to start. Try not to stay on this drug and seek safer alternatives. Withdrawal is hell and I am left with tremors. Weight gain is also a side effect. The bad outweighed the good for me.
Dear travel8
I was on gab for almost 6 years and after 2 1/2 years on it I was rushed to the hospital for exacerbation. I never had it before. A whole year went by and no breathing problems. Then year 5 I had 4 exacerbations about 4-6 months apart. My daughter did research on my meds and found that Gab does have this side effect. It’s been 3 years I’m off Gab and my breathing issues continue to get worse. There isn’t a recovery once you develop this side effect. Please be cautious as I’m sure not all people would have the reaction I did but I wanted to tell you what I experienced. The gab did help me a lot with my pain. Unfortunately I am no longer able to use it. Best of luck to you. Prayers are with you
The same thing happened to me. I’m off it now 4 years but continue with the breathing problem. I’ve been hospitalized 5 times already this year. For me it’s getting worse and now they say I have probably 3-4 years left. I hate this medication. It’s horrible and destroyed my life. Prayers for you my friend
Arc1953, I am so terribly sorry to hear about all of the difficulties and challenges you’ve had to face all these years. And your doctors say you have 3-4 years left… do you mean to live?
