Can take up to a month to notice any difference, if no difference then doc needs to raise dosage. Take at same time everyday and if insomnia is issue then morning is best. Zoloft can be a good drug for some people, it was not for me, if you or friends notice any changes in your behavior you need to talk to your doctor. It does not do this to everyone, it is like all meds for anxiety you have to try something a while and see if it works.
Best of luck to you
Sertraline (Zoloft) can take upwards of a month to reach maximum effectiveness. It works great for some people so be patient and see how it goes. Be sure to take it in the morning if you are having a problem with insomnia.
Many thanks for the reply, just hope i can last out that long!
Hang in there and breathe deep, relaxation exercises will help tremendously. You can do this!!
I have depression and anxiety and I am on 200mg of zoloft. I feel that it controls both very well, but Ive been on them for quite some time. Everyone is different but if you have been on 50mg for 3 weeks and you are still having trouble. I would wait another week and think about speaking with your doctor again. I would try to avoid such things as xanax, though it is helpful it is very habit forming.
