I have been on 10 gm escitalopram for a bit over 3 weeks now. I must say that, despite bad anxiety in week 1, my second week on escitalopram felt amazing. I could really feel the improvement in my mood and I just didn't feel as anxious/depressed as I was before.
However, in my third week, I haven't really felt major benefits and it feels like I went back to where I started. Is it normal for the medication to subside after a couple of weeks before reaching its peak? What is your experience?
How long does it take escitalopram to kick in?

Hi, alepel!
It may not seem like it but it sounds as though you're pretty much on track. It's good that you were seeing some improvements which shows that the medication is beginning to work.
It's not uncommon to have these ups and downs as your metabolism is adjusting to the drug... we call it the "roller coaster" effect. Don't worry, this will resolve soon and you'll feel great again.
It may take 4-8 weeks to completely feel all the benefits but it won't be long now.
Thank you for your answer! This is so reassuring! I really did feel major improvements a week ago and I really hope I'll be able to feel the same in the near future.
Again, thank you so much!
