I’m on escitalopram for three days right now. And I’ve started on 10mg but raised the dose to 20 mg very quick. It is okay? Thank you.

Hi, Sultan!
My friend, masso, has explained this in detail and I agree wholeheartedly with the comment. Your aim is to find the LOWEST dose that is effective for you while minimalizing or eliminating any side effects as your system adjusts to the medication.
Talk to your doctor and give this some time and patience.
My best to you!
You started with the proper initial dose but you have increased it too fast, commonly you have to wait at least one week to increase the dose to 20 mgs. which is the maximum dose and only your Dr. can determine if you need a dose adjustment according to how you react to this antidepressant.
For you to see some improvements it may take two weeks, in most patients, as everyone reacts differently to medications and for Escitalopram it takes 6 to 8 weeks to reach it´s full therapeutic effect, the medication needs to build up in your system in order to find relief from your conditions.
Not because you double dose after 3 days means that the more you take the better the medication and faster it will work in order to provide the desired effect, it takes time. Plus there are potential side effects which may or may not affect you and also possible risks involved.
I suggest you contact your Dr. and inform him/her that you have doubled your dose after 3 days.
