I know this is an old post, but it may help someone, just wanted to add that everyone reacts differently to medications, benefits, dosages, potential risks, side effects... etc..
I was on 2.5mg for the last 18 months of my time on lexapro. It is an extremely low dose but I worked down to that slowly after being on 10mg for a few years. I had to do a lot of self help along the way, therapy, meditation etc and alongside that the 2.5mg worked a treat. Was it placebo at that dose? Possibly!
When I eventually came off I stayed off medication for three years. But life happens and covid plus many more stresses in life has bought me back to medication!
What dose are you taking now?
I’m no longer on lexapro, I weaned off and stayed off for three years.
I’m on a different antidepressant now, Zoloft.
