I dislike using condoms and would like to know how long you have to wait before it is safer to begin sex again without having to worry about pregnancy?
Thanks!

It is best to get advice from your doctor as to when it will become effective as it dependant on where you were on your cycle when it was inserted and what type, if any, of contraception you were using before the Implanon was inserted.
The link below has guidelines (under “Dosage and Administration”) as to how long you should use extra precautions for, after Implanon is inserted.
i would suggest wait atleast a week or 10 days to get the full benefit..after all you want it 'worry free'
I had my inplannon inserted the day I came off my period and they told me it will start straight away, I've had it in for 9 days now & I'm worried just in case it's too soon, better off asking your doctor for reassurence
My doctor said I could right away but that was bc it was 2 weeks after my period the answer really depends on when you ovulate
hi young&reckless, the doctor who perscribed the implanon should have talked this over with you.please keep in mind that implanon will only work fon one thing.birth control, but as far as thinking its some kind of super cure, there's no such thing. you can still get all kinds of STD's so please be careful and think before you act.
