I've been on Mounjaro for 2 years this month. I was prescribed for prediabetes and high A1C and morbidly obese. Just went for a checkup and I'm no longer prediabetic and my A1C is good, and I've lost 90 lbs. so I'm no longer considered morbidly obese. Win Win! The only drawback is I'll need to continue taking this shot forever. My insurance pays for it which is good. I feel so much better. There are side effects I could live without but nothing that I can't push through. The positive outweighs the negative. This medication has been a life saver for me. No amount of diets or exercise ever worked and I've tried everything. Has anyone else been on this medication for 2 years plus?
I will be a lifetime Mounjaro user?

I have been on it for 18 months. I'm no longer obese either but still about 10-15 pounds overweight. My insurance doesn't cover it and I have to get it from a compound pharmacy. Now the big pharma companies are trying to forbid the compounding pharmacies from selling it. So frustrating. I got hair thinning as a side effect but I'd rather have that than obesity. I agree. Nothing else worked for me either, including gastric banding. I plan on being on it for life. I should probably upgrade my dosage from 5 mg to 7.5 mg because it's not controlling my sweet tooth and appetite like it did up to about a month ago. But I can't afford it and my A1C and weight are stable. I've lost 40#.
