I was on Lexapro for 1 year took 20 mg. in the morning, because of my chronic insomnia.
Having said Lexapro (Escitalopram) affects up to 14% of people taking it with insomnia and 13% of users with somnolence.
I am not aware that this SSRI is prescribed off label for sleep disorders/insomnia.
"Escitalopram may also be helpful when prescribed “off-label” for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders such as binge eating disorder or bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)."

Talk to your doctor.
Hello,
Yes. If your anxiety related to sleep, then yes lexapro may help. Also, lexapro can be prescribe off label for insomnia. But it may take several weeks before seeing improvements. You won’t get a restful sleep or feel less anxious overnight. But you should definitely speak with the doctor to know what’s best for you. I never taken lexapro before but I hope someone here can provide you with better feedbacks.
