Do I leave the polysporin in my wound or do I take if off after a few minutes then reapply after?

Normal steps for wound care are, cleanse with mild soap and water, (or any wound cleanser ordered) apply ointment, and a dressing if required. The oint is washed out when the next treatment time comes along.
