I also get really bad breath I am finding really hard each day to cope with all of this. The pain in mouth processes through out the day especially really bad when going bed.

OMG, thanks for this. I thought i was the only one, but I suspected it must have been lansoprazole right away. I am glad I just found it. I've been taking it for 3 months (2 x 30mg) and developed exactly all those symptoms + burning tongue a month into taking it. The most worrying has been the unintentional weight loss - over two stones. I must add that before I started taking it, my reflux wasn't giving me any symptoms.
I have stopped taking the ppis but just hope the symptoms subside. It's driving me crazy I have no appetite at all and my throat burns when I swallow the nasty taste in the mouth stuff. Does it make your throat burn and give you nasty taste in mouth.
Good morning I been so ill since I taken ppis I get constant sore throat. Nasty watery taste in my mouth i hardly get any sleep I really hate food now. Because this mediation has put me off it. Even drinking water taste horrible like.
Yes, it's given me sore throat, too. I do have the nasty taste in my mouth as well, but when it comes to the burning, the most affected area is my mouth, tongue and sometimes the back of my throat, it's literally 24/7. I don't know whether the saliva seems to be thicker and has that strange taste or whether that's my tongue that gives me that impression. Sometimes I wake up at night with a completely dry mouth. My body is sensitive to medication. I've gone through lots of different blood pressure medications since I had to start taking one in 2018, cause after a while I get adverse reaction to one (it can be after a few months, a month or even after a few days) that is always quite "extreme". It took me 6 months to get back to normal after taking amlodipine for over a year.
Gosh we really have the same symptoms. Yes my saliva feels the same I get a really sour/bitter taste in my mouth and myouthouse burning starts straight from the morning. And I wake up with very dry mouth too and salty taste in the morning at times. I can sleep fine that's the only time I get a rest from this. You when you eat, drink and brush teeth does the taste get worse by any chance. I am glad I have someone to speak to about this cause I thought I was going mad.
The sour/bitter taste is with me constantly. I also don't have a problem with it when I sleep, but if I wake up at night and my mouth isn't dry, I do have lots of saliva in my mouth that has that nasty taste. Just before going to bed I rinse my mouth with Colgate Plax sea salt mouth wash (without alcohol), when I wake up at night or in the morning, there is not that much saliva in my mouth (it still has a nasty taste, but it's not that intense) - I only discovered that a week ago. When I drink, brush my teeth or eat, the horrible taste is still there and gets more intense. I will ask my GP to put me on Omeprazole - I wonder why I wasn't prescribed that anyways. My mum has been on it for years and she's been alright. Please keep me updated regarding your symptoms. Thanks ;)
Thank you i will do and you keep me updated too. Take care
Any updates?
I am still having the symptoms the tablets have really messed me up. I don't like eating at all now. How are you doing
Oh no. Since then I've been on Omeprazole, then Esomeprazole and still having the symptoms as well.
