I'm on 30mg it's a mood stabilizer but it does make you sleepy so I take it at night. The doctor confirmed it needs to be taken at night and I believe 30mg is the highest dose.
No, if anything it commonly causes insomnia once your body gets used to it.
my daughter takes abilify for bipolar disorder and her doctor told her it was better to take it at night to help with sleep.I have noticed the higher her dosage has been the more sleepy she gets. The highest dose she could go was 15 mg due to falling asleep in class.
Not to my knowledged. I have a friend who was prescribed it for depression. Generally this type of medication is not prescribed in the same class as sleep aides. Good luck
Harmondo66,
Abilify is an antipsychotic. It's used for agitation and mania and is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It should not be prescribed for just sleep. It has both drowsiness and insomnia as possible known side effects. If you need help getting to sleep, I'd ask the doctor for a sedative. Hope this answers your question.
