Hi Tahoe! Glad I found you! I am SuboxoneJay. We have a few MUTUAL friends that asked me to reach out to you and see if I can be of any help? I am a proud, Sober man of 5 years and 9 days now and have been taking Suboxone for close to 4 years now! I am on the strips and take 24mgs and feel great and SOBER! I will tell you that there is TOO much chatter out there about which way to what about Suboxone! Be careful and don't read too much into any one piece of literature! Watch yourself! I am VERY well versed in my field and trust that our MUTUAL friends would NOT have turned to me and asked me to try to assit you if they had any less confidence in me! I will do anything I can to help you in your times of need! If you will, allow me to tell you the cold truth of Sub WD's! As Suboxone, be they tabs or strips, have a 36 hour half-life, you will feel next to nothing for the first 4-6 days of no Subs.
Even cold turkey! But after that, things become VERY different! As there is Naloxene in Suboxone, as well as Narcan, "the Narcotic" part of Suboxone, you WILL become VERY sick! The WD's can and will feel worse than most other WD's! Last longer and more dangerous if not properly watched! PLEASE do NOT try to doctor yourself! I added you as a "friend" and hope you will accept. If you do, we can talk in a more private and frank forum as to the seriousness of the trials you are about to face! Time IS of the essence here! I hope you chose to do the right thing! I am here for you as your friends are right, you can and will be SICK if you are in the thoughts of "it will pass". This takes time and I am offering myself to you to do whatever I can to assist. Please think about my offer. I am only a click away... SuboxoneJay...
Thank you. I appreciateit. Ya, I felt ok most of the day. Felt like shit yrsterday and the day before. Right now I feel like shit and relapse is not in hind sight. Just want to get throught this. I have the next four days off and im just going to be sick.
Thank you for finding me. Yeah, you will feel sick for a while, but it does get better! Pray a lot! I am for you. We all are. Take these next 4 days and just rest. Shower, a lot! The water on you will sooth the tingling sensations too. Try not to grit your teeth. You may not be able to eat either, but it's all par for the coarse. I'm here for ya! ... SuboxoneJay...
I was finally.able to eat and walk today. Its really my chest that is botherig me and m havig a hard time finding out if that is normal. Do you know?
I did.end up going to the hospital that nogt. The pains in my chest were just too nad. Turned out my.ekg was abnormal. Got some anxiety medicine and temporarily felt better. Today is day 6 and still dont feel good. Pain in my chest is still there. It makes me want to use so pbad because it remids me of how I used to feel before I would get my fix, then it.would all go away. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
Hi. I feared you might need to go to the hospital. High anxiety levels are not uncommon to WD's. If the hospital gave you something to calm your nevers, I assume it was a Benzo of one sort or another. Please don't use this med in place of the other. It is all to easy to fall into the pattern of substituting one drug for another. Especially if it was a Benzo! Please, don't self medicate! Having the WD's is not easy, but if you really seek to gain your Sobriety, you must deal with all that comes your way. Even if it feels like hell, getting clean and sober is well worth the effort. Stay strong and you will get past it! I am praying for you, we all are! ... SuboxoneJay...
Taking suboxone doesn't make you sobor, it's still an opiate. It keeps your tolerance up, and screws up your system worse than anything else. I have two friend that did long term maintanance and both suffer from very low testerone.
This is old but so not true for everyone.. im on day 4 and i feel great... little to no withdrawal with the proper taper
Dear Tahoe, am at work right now and texting from my phone. Promise not trying to be nosy, but need more info. Were you on short term opiates or methadone before subs and for about how long? How long were you on subs, how much? Did you taper, how low did you go if you did? If you didn't, how many mgs were you on when you stopped your subs? This is info myself and others need to help with your question. If you will please click on my avatar, you can read my subs story in my profile, it may have a few tips that will help you. Please hit comment and answer the questions as this info will help us trouble shoot for you. Thank you, pattishan61
And im typing on my phone, sorry for mistypes and lack of punctuation. I started with oxys (2 yrs) then tragically moved on to black for about seven months. I checked myself into detox seven months ago and did a thirty day inpatient. I left and started suboxone for the last six months. Got up to 8mg and had to taper dowm real fast because well cant pay the $750 a month for it. Im ready though. I forgot for the last six months I was An addict. I just want a beter life. I want to be happy and have a drug free life.
And im typing on my phone, sorry for mistypes and lack of punctuation. also im brand new at this. I started with oxys (2 yrs) then tragically moved on to black for about seven months. Ok, Tahoe, thanks for adding that info. I didn't see what mg you jumped off at, did you jump off at 1 mg or less than 1 mg. You weren't on a super high dose or for an extended period, that will definitely work to your favor. If you can do some walking for exercise it does several things to help lessen the severity of wd and the length of time you go thru it. Start slow and easy, so you won't get sore and not want do do it. Start with 10 minutes twice a day. It produces endorphins, those make you feel better mentally and physically, it also sends a signal to the brain to reboot the neurotransmitter to receptor site system, that is the brains natural pain relieving system and it helps regulate the eat-sleep-wake cycles. Add a couple of minutes to the walking every few days, once you get up to 20 minutes twice a day, you can switch to once per day. This really will help.
How are you feeling now, if you get thru the next few days without major withdrawal symptoms, that means you likely won't have them at all. A person starts to feel subs wd at a dose of 16 mgs 3 to 5 days after the last dose, at 8 mgs 2 to 4 days, at 1 to 2 mgs or less, 36 hours to 1 day after last dose. If you aren't having them by now, you may be fine and wd free. There are a couple of rx meds that do help with wd symptoms, clonidine helps with anxiety, insomnia, and restless leg. Methacarbomal helps with tummy issues. I took a low dose of antidepressant as I have always suffered from depression and I walked, tapered slow, had no withdrawal. I was on 12 mgs originally (way too high for my opiate use and was on it a year and half before I began my taper. Didn't know I was ever supposed to be off of it and had a relatively smooth descent off. You may be lucky, if you are having symptoms, please list them, and what dose you tapered to. Patti
My last dose was about 1.5 mg. day 1:felt like crap, sweaty, hot/cold chills day 2: felt like super crap, nausea, throwing up, diahrreah, cold and hot sweat, up all night in br day 3: same as day 2, but finally got some ativan and imodium, day 4:less sweats, not as frequent diahrrea, tightness in chest, anxiety- hoping day 5 will be etter. I cant handle the tightness in my chest. I did manage to take my dog for a short walk so that is good. Thank you for all your insight.
The tightness in the chest bothers me for you, I did not have anything like that, however, it could be anxiety. Chest pain can be a sign of that, panic attacks cause it too. If you have shortness of breath or any other signs of heart trouble, go to the ER. Make sure you get some Gatorade and water in you also. Get some support, either here or if you have someone close who knows you are doing this. Try to stay busy. If worse comes to worse, and you have to go back on, try getting subutex, explain the financial issue, it has a generic, plus get the 2 mg pills easier to split, start with .5 mgs in am and .5 in pm and make sure you give it 2 full hours to take full effect before you decide to take more. That is just in case you really have to do this as you are having too many symptoms for too long. Since you were not on a high dose to begin with or on it for long time, like I said, this works in your favor as far as how long this will last.
I have a friend who jumped at 2 mgs, he said it wasn't too bad. It should get better each day. The walking will help, I promise that. Try to stay busy, I know it will help distract you. Try laughter, it produces endorphins too. Go to YouTube.com and look up Ms. swan at the airport or Ms. Swan customs and another hysterical video is Seth and amy really Michael Vick airport. I promise you will laugh. Seth and amy did these really segments on snl news. Also snl stephon will be funny, promise. I'll be saying some prayers for ya too.
I really appreciate all the help. I was going to a clinic for the suboxone. Do you know if regular doctors can prescribe subutex? There are only a few drs in my area that can prescribe it and they have full practices.
Only subs drs can rx it, go to suboxone.con and look for the doctor locator service, write down all the names, as the induction and office visit fees vary. And ask if they write for subutex, many don't.
