I have been taking Clonazepam 1mg for a couple if years, with good efficacy. The pill I have been... taking is green, with the number 833 and sometimes the manufacturer's name "Teva" on the tablet. Recently, my pharmacist substituted a yellow tablet, manufactured by Actavis. It is labeled R34. My question: has anyone found a difference is the efficacy or side effects between the green Teva and yellow Actavis versions of clonazepam? I ask because I had one generic substituted for another generic I take of another drug (lamotrigine) and found the substitute did nothing for me and all my symptoms came back. I am more than a little gun-shy of taking a different manufacturer's version of a generic after this last experience. So if anyone has any thing to share with regards to the efficacy of Teva's version of clonazepam versus the Activas version, please let me know. Thanks!
Clonazepam - anyone noticed difference in efficacy /side effects of the Teva & Actavis versions?

I don't know but found out after a month I'm allergic to the manufacturers clonazepam because pharmacy changed the manufacturer who would have known generic drugs can harm people I sure learnt my lesson f now that's on my record I did find that I could not sleep at night kept waking up every hour or two so glad to have finally found out the pharmacies should let you know before you purchase for this reason alone the Teva brand which is generic as well doesn't bother me at all weird how some manufacturers products differ in just the slightest way and your the one who gets the reactions to the meds hope you find your last drug by asking the pharmacy what manufacturer did you have before as I had to get another prescription and go through my health insurance so I could get the Teva kind as they work Actavis didn't work for me just lots of blisters and rash and during night time I would taste the pill as I would awaken nauseous over the Actavis Good Luck!!
Thx for responding. Teva no longer manufacturers Clonazepam. There are shortages in my area, CA USA. It is hard for pharmacys to them in stock so they have to " grab' whatever brand is out there. Right now I find only Accord or Actavis. And only in certain mg. 1mg may be a different brand than .5mg...
I'm not happy with this at all & I am sure others aren't either
I just called my pharmacist because they switched to those yellow ones and I had trouble breathing and got hives . They said to bring in the bottle they would switch to the TEVA . The green ones which aren’t they great but don’t make me sick . I used to get the Blue ones which are the most potent brand with less fillers my doctor said
Hi, Please tell Me Anyone, how You can get Teva again? If its not being made? Ive been switched to L34 ( 1mg Actavis. Made by Teva. I called them Teva, and they said no longer making Teva. So Any info where to get it Please Let Me Know! Much Love to All. Bless.❤
Hi! Again, Anyone Have luck with Rivotril or Roche Brand Klonopin?
I get Teva honestly the best Was Klonopin by Roche no reaction and worked effectively but we are dictated by insurance and pharmacies your doctor can write it for DO NOT SUBSTITUTE and get an approval
The dark blue, Accord ?, I got a 2-day sample of. Upset my stomach, I was awake off and on all night, was sweaty all day (very odd for me). Was bad.
Actavis is all that's left without trying the original... and having to give up food to pay for it! So FINALLY had someone with connections volunteer to swing Actavis for me. I can only hope it works. For my sake and others'.
So sorry about your reactions to Actavis. Had that near identical tasting, constant waking, tossing in my sleep, and other reactions with some generic yrs back. Perhaps try a sample of Accord brand, though I can't take it. Maybe a different, larger, mg of Actavis in a different color... split down to your dosage. Usually cheaper that way, as well.
P.S. I split pills with the inside of an old pair of tweezers and my fingers.
Actavis is a complete pussy bow. Everyone should start complaining to the pharmacies. They don't work at all. I used to take two Klonopin a day. Now I can literally swallow all 60 Actavis pills which read R34 at once and not feel one single drop of anyting. Who do I report them to? Actavis should be held accountable
I've been taking Klonopin for about a year, and I've found that the generics are WIDELY different in terms of whether they're just plain ineffective sugar pills or effective-but-not-sedating (Teva). I switched to brand name Klonopin to prevent this from happening.
But no, you're not the only one who has had difficulties with generic Klonopin.
"Benzodiazepines - [... - says most benzo generics are just fine].
The one exception to this is Klonopin. There are some forms of generic clonazepam that are not as good as the brand, and the brand is just superior over all. But how many of you have ever had brand name Klonopin with the 'K' punched out in the center of the pill? That's what I thought. We've had generic versions that are good and we've had generic versions that are just complete shit sugar pills. Sorry, too many pills, too much memory weirdness to give you any sort guide as to which manufacturers to avoid. But the sad fact is that there's a lot of clonazepam out there that is practically worthless, and the FDA doesn't seem to care one way or the other about it. I found one old study when the bioequivalence standard was only 75% and generic diazepam vs. brand Valium didn't even meet that!"
Teva have been the best brand name ive used ever if I could help more I would need to try the difference between the two and I will put up my preferences on here please post me a few of each with the name scrached off then I could give you my honest oppinion .if your happy to do so please send them to 86 Redheugh Court Teams GATESHEAD NE82TS Tyne&wear England Uk name is Enzo Steward and ive been takeing benzodiazepines for over 22years from my doctor lorazepam wer the mildest and xanex alprazolam was the most potent and stongest log lastiing tablets
Same thing happened to my husband. He has had clonazepam1mg from teva for years, same pharmacy always. This last time I did not look at the pills until we were home. The pills were blue instead of green and made by a different company. They do not work. The pharmacy said it is same ingredients but something is not right because they don't have the same results. Since we accepted the prescription without checking my husband is stuck for a month until he gets the teva brand. I think the pharmacy should have to tell u when the manufacturer has changed before they give u your prescription. I was glad to see this forum where others had the same issue.
Same thing happened to me. Been taking the teva brand ones for 18 yrs. Used to take the green 1mg. Now I take the yellow .5mg and the last time I got them filled, they finished the bottle off with 5 of those Accord brand clonazepam sugar pills. Terrible drowsiness, fades off fast, rebound anxiety, racing heart, shaking, restlessness. Thankfully they only topped the bottle off with them and the rest are the Teva ones, but now I will have to call around to make sure whichever pharmacy I used will have them bc this one said (once I got home and noticed , like you) that they would not be carrying the Teva brand ones any longer. This was Kroger. They probably are cheaper to get the China made Accord ones, but terrible for business. I read on Reddit they discontinued Teva generic clonazepam as someone said they called all around Vegas and couldn't find any and finally called the company to find out and they told them it's discontinued.
I hope that's just a rumor and not true bc I will need to switch to something else entirely like Xanax (which I hate, but could possibly ween off or something) bc I cannot take the anxiety induced by the cheap generics. It's hell on wheels. You might as well throw them in the trash. This is WHY it's sometimes rational to stockpile. Call your doctor and explain the issue and say you will hand over the remaining pills to them in exchange for a new prescription to take elsewhere!! Just so they know you're not trying to double up. Sad we even have to endure such questioning! But I bet they have heard this before, for sure! Please call your doctor and don't have him take the generics if he does not like them. I totally GET IT!
I've taken the TEVA brand for years and for the month of June, I was given the Accord brand. In my experience, it worked fine for me. Now I have the Actavis brand. It wasn't asked for, just given to me.
Anyways, the reason I'm writing this comment (and registered just to do so) is to let whoever's reading this, that everyone is different. The Accord brand were effective in reducing my anxiety.
Take everything you read online with a grain of salt.
Northstars Clonazepam is completely worthless! It has 0 effect on me at all. I complained to my pharmacist and asked for the brand TEVA that works great, I knew it couldn’t just be me, surely others have complained too, well I started refusing Northstar brand but when I picked up my medicine today, I be damned if it wasn’t Northstar! I had to make another trip to the pharmacy to get a few of the TEVA brand, when I got there I was informed that TEVA was not going to be making Clonazepam Anymore! There’s got to be other brands that work and not just TEVA, hopefully I’ll find one or I will just have my doctor demand the real deal instead of a generic. How can they just lie about their medicine? You can tell when something doesn’t work! I can take 3 pills and feel Nothing! They are obviously not checked to make sure their meds even contain Any of the active ingredients they are suppose to be! All this bull about the FDA and standards, whose Checking Them!!!
I had been taking yellow generic I think Tiva and pharmacist gave me pink and not good! Another company, Actavis. I told my dr I wanted the real thing, klonopin. He's checking with my insurance co. Why do we pay insurance companies to tell us what we can take?? Ridiculous, anyone do better on real klonopin??
I am glad to have found these posting. I have been affected by the generic blue. Last months, it was terrible. And, the pharmacy does not have anything else. I also learned that two manufactures discontinued making it. The blue version of the generic dissolves two quickly. Therefore, it posses a danger to the patient. The patient does not get the benefit of the medication. And, more critical, it creates a sense of needing to take more... '
I am at the mercy of current doctors, and will see if I can get the brand name.
Has anyone tried a different benzo? We all like clonazepam but it seems that the efficacy of the pills and the side effects aren’t worth the trouble? Has anyone tried diazepam or any other generic benzo instead of clonazepam? I haven’t even tried Acatavis clonazepam but it do ant sound good
Please Teva; bring back the original light green 1 mg Klonopin generic!!! I have tried to find it again at numerous pharmacies over the last few years and it is gone. I am now getting a yellow or blue clonazepam pill that I believe with all my heart is just sugar a.k.a. some mind over matter fake pill. I have been having zapping headaches, intense migraines, my mind is in a fog. I am a mess for the last 2-3 years since all pharmacies have stopped giving me the light green teva Clonazepam. I have even studied the ingredients in the pills I get now compared to the ingredients in the light green Teva pill and the yellow and blue clonazepam is missing half the ingredients. PLEASE HELP. Thank you for reading this.
See everyone is different I can’t take the green teva I get very bad headaches, but the blue ones are fine by me.
