I've heard all benzo meds are going to be banned shortly! What are we supposed to treat our panic attacks with? I've been having more attacks since hearing about this!! Unless your doctor has panic attacks, they act like you're faking attacks just to get the meds! I've called the White House Comment Line three times to try to stop this! Please call the White House plus your Congressmen and Senators and complain about them cutting down our doses and then banning the medication (Ativan/Lorazepam ) and try to stop this attack on sick people! We Americans have the right to get these meds that treat our condition! Call and complain until they get the message! Remember, the squeeky wheel gets the oil!!!
Has anyone else noticed that Actavis Ativan doesn't stop panic attacks?

I find that hard to believe quite frankly. The Whitehouse is not going to disenfranchise about 10 million voters, it would be political suicide.
Yes, Stephen, I have to agree!
Two doctors have told me and they've already started cutting down the doses to only two a day.
We have a system in Australia where many of your commonly prescribed anti-anxiety medications are strictly controlled here and require a Federal authorization number where a doctor has to justify his reasons (over the phone to a person) for prescribing such medication. It may be with the US benzo epidemic that regulations are being tightened. Psychiatrists may have more latitude in prescribing than a regular doctor.
Hi burnout-
You got your information from doctors?? Have contacted the FDA? They would be the branch of government that would restrict or ban benzodiazepines in the US.
Hi burnout: More information please? Are you speaking only of the Activis generic of Ativan being pulled from the market? I don't have much faith in the generic manufacturer Activis of most of their generic medications. Their Bupropion is definitely inferior to the brand name. :-(
Not to be negative but going by past experience, good luck on calling the White House Comment Line. Unfortunately, they have "bigger fish to fry" with the new administration in the White House.
No,not just Actavis, but all benzos.
You obviously received false information from your doctor. Although certain forms of certain manufacturers may have been discontinued Actavis Pharmaceuticals continuous to produce the most effective alprazolam on the market.
HI burnedout-
Where did you hear that they are going to take Ativan off the market? If they are, I agree that we have a right to have our conditioned (s) treated. Are they banning Xanax too?
From my doctor.
Yes they are banning Xanax and all benzos.
