I have severe GAD and depression and take Wellbutrin XL. I was given metoprolol succinate ER to help calm my system down and lower heart rate and BP. I have lorazepam for bad anxiety/panic attacks only, and was recently given hydroxyzine 25 mg, 1-2 tablets, to take as needed to hopefully cut down on the lorazepam. Is hydroxyzine safe to use? It had some scary warnings about heart stuff. Since I’m on other meds I was even more nervous... even though doc prescribed it. Curious about others experiences with it and it’s effectiveness for anxiety when taken as needed.
Is hydroxyzine safe to take??

I take 100mg to sleep. It does nothing for my anxiety. I know alot of people that can take like 10 to 25 and go to sleep easy.
I have taken hydroxyzine before bedtime to help with my nighttime anxiety. I took 50 mg and it work well for my anxiety. I fell asleep within 45 mins. But the downside is that I felt drowsy during the day time. So I got off of it. This is my experience, I hope this helps.
I read your previous post and you mentioned that if GAD causes itching? Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine. It also treats itching and allergies.
