I don't have COPD but i do have asthma. This medication is to prevent symptoms not relieve them from what my pulmonary Dr told me and if I needed relieve from symptoms to use my rescue inhaler. It took me about a month to feel some a difference in my breathing. Your husband might have to talk his Dr for a different type of medicine that is just for the treatment of COPD.
