From what I’ve heard from a pcp in Michigan it’s around $1,240 something but definitely below $1,400 somewhere in between that range for sure!
It’s is expensive around 1,200$ or more. I have Cigna and they totally cover it with zero copay. I would suggest you actually call a rep because I’ve had several friends who qualified for 6 months free.
How much does Vivitrol cost? Too much. If cost is a concern, why not take the pill - Naltrexone - and skip the expensive shot? And if you really want to quit and still have a functioning liver (as most people do) consider taking Antabuse (unless you have a health problem or allergy that makes that impossible). But you have to really want to take a pill that makes you incredibly ill IF you drink on it. And that's IF, not when. It's a deterrent that you can choose to take in the morning so the choice becomes obvious - don't drink - in the evening.
I was on this shot for a year myself. And I am a nurse. It was $900 a month for me. But the mental health facility where I received the injection had a state program that accepted so many patients from that hospital, and with my insurance the injection was free for me. I did however have to pay for my own drug tests once or twice a month. It's worth every penny though! If you really want to kick your habit, it's the only way!
Where can I find out more about that federal program information? It seems like its almost impossible to get without insurance.
It cost about $1,200.00 for one injection that "should" last a month. If they have a high metabolism, it only last about 3 weeks. (it does not block the use of crack cocaine)
Approximately $1,600. My insurance covered all but $200.
Usually, Vivitrol costs around $1,050. I know someone who has really good insurance w/a $60 co-pay. Also, the drug maker has a financial assistance program for those who qualify. This can probably be found on thier website if you look around long enough.
can you tell me which insurance carrier that is .I don't know one that covers the Vivatrol monthly injection.I would appreciate any help with a provider that covers it.
Hi check out this website it will give you information about the nearest suppliers of vivitrol to you and then you can get an idea of costs involved. http://www.vivitrol.com
Goodluck : )
You could write to the company who manufactures & markets it: Manufactured and marketed by: Alkermes, Inc. SB Sidney Street Cambridge, MA 02139, perhaps they could also run a program & would give you the right price, or else call a pharmacy to inquire, take care.
Useless answer. Of course you could call the pharmacy and ask, but the questioner, like myself, would like to compare what they are paying their doctor for the injection with what others are paying. The drug is part of the equation, but also the doctor's time and the nurse who gives the injection, all go into a cost per injection. My question would be - is $300 per injection high, low or about average?
Really, doubt anyone would have come to that conclusion on their own.
