Adhere to the dose prescribed by the doctor. Ativan is from the benzo family, which causes addiction. Do not violate the instructions. If you experience side effects, stop taking the drug immediately and visit your doctor.
Again, you are telling another member to stop the medication immediately. First he/she must contact his/her Dr. , that is not the way to advice someone, stopping abruptly can cause serious withdrawals plus you do not know if this member is self medicating or not as he/she is not aware of the dosage.
And you have not contributed with anything that I have already answered.
You must take it as prescribed by your DR./Psychiatrist, if you are unclear of how they were prescribed to you, contact your DR. and ask him/her to go over the prescription again. If that does not help you, I suggest you seek for a second opinion.
Ativan (Lorazepam) is a prescription medication only it belongs to the drug class of Benzodiazepines.
Benzodiazepines must not be taken lightly, they are used short term under strict medical supervision due to the potential they have for addiction and abuse, they are a controlled substance, Schedule 4.

If you are self medicating, again, if you are, do not do so for your own safety and seek medical advice/guidance from a medical professional.
