Hello rumple. Actually, valium can be detected in your body as long as 5 or 6 weeks after having taken it. I truly believe that our own physical make up, also plays a role. Simply put take a headache, how quickly it lessens is up to te individual, as well as to say the dose of aspirin you might be taking to get rid of it.have a good one, best to you.
Hair or Urine drug test? My understanding is that each person's body will metabolize medications at different rates. My guess would be within 24 hours it would be cleared from your system, but to be sure you can check the Professional Monolith on this site for Valium. It will say how long it takes to clear the system.
It's definately longer than 24 hrs. Either hair or urine (Urine Test) OMG. Glad I'm not depending on you for something important, thanks anyway.
Valium is detectable in the urine 2 to 5 hours after use and can be detected 3-7 days later.
Detection times will vary based on a number of factors including frequency of use, route of administration, body mass, state of health and age.
Valium is not tested for using a hair test.
I am sorry if you found my answer incorrect. I take 5 mg of Valium a day in the afternoon (when I remember) and 5 mg at bedtime. Maybe my low dose and my metabolism is a factor in this, but I don't test positive (as tested in the ER) the next day for this drug. Here is the quote from the Professional Monograph (I mistakenly wrote Monolith earlier) from this website:
"Half-life
Diazepam: 20–50 hours. (my note: this is the generic form of Valium)
Metabolites: Desmethyldiazepam: 30–200 hours.a Temazepam: 5–20 hours.
Oxazepam: 3–21 hours.
Special Populations
In neonates and infants, half-life may be prolonged; half-life may be shorter in children ≥2 years of age and adolescents.
Geriatric patients and patients with hepatic impairment may have prolonged elimination half-lives of diazepam and its metabolites."
As far as my question about urine or hair test: You mentioned standard drug tests but these are both standard. It wasn't to change my answer, more meant to get clarification.
Terra
I tested positive still 12 days after Valium took roughly 20mg.
I took some 10mg Valium on New Years and I’m still testing positive weeks later on the 15th. I’m average weight maybe a little chunky my metabolism is probably pretty slow .
