Hi! I got a shot once a month for 24 month & just had my last Lupron Depot shot in August 2020. life after the shot has been weird. i'm suffering nausea everyday, a few headaches, stomach cramping, and lower back pain. i am just wondering is this normal when you are done with your shot?
i was on the shot due to treat breast cancer and i am currently 25 years old.
Hey,
It's very normal,
I just got back my periods last month,it's very heavy periods, very heavy flow..am yet to go see my doc
I went to see my ob-gyn about dysmenorrhea and she had me do an internal scan that revealed the presence of fibroids. She told me I had to get Lupron which would put my body into temporary menopause. She didn't take my blood pressure prior or ask me about any family history of hypertension or anxiety. She also only told me that i would have hot flashes and could suffer decreased bone density but put me on some supplements to combat both these things.
I got the 3 month injection on the 9th of March 2020, since then and despite taking supplements, my hair has thinned and I have tiny bald patches all over my scalp form where it's fallen out, I have hot flashes multiple times a day and night sweats that wake me up, I have joint pain (particularly in my knees), i have horrible brain fog and struggle remembering even the simplest things, I have suicidal ideation and I get frequent devastating panic attacks from even the slightest emotion or excitement, which are always followed by intense hot flashes that last for ages. I can't focus on work and I struggle to just to get up in the morning. I'm hardly sleeping because I get panic attacks at night too that wake me up. It has now been almost 90 days post the 3 month mark and my period isn't back, I still have all the side effects, including vaginal dryness. Please someone, tell me there's an end to this. This drug has put my body through worse than fibroids ever did and I'm losing hope I'll survive these side effects much longer. I'm only 29.
I forgot to mention, when I went back to see my OB-Gyn a month after the 3months was up she took my blood pressure and found that it was borderline for someone my age which she said was abnormal and a bit of a concern. When i told her about the panic attacks which manifest in heart palpitations and this sinking feeling of hopelessness (like I'm dying but I don't know how) she just prescribed an anti-anxiety medication for a week to help sedate me at night so i could sleep. It didn't work. She also just told me to keep taking the supplements which are really not helping much at all.
My periods stopped as well,it's been one year now since my last surgery (laparoscopy),I have gained some weight and always tired
I started my Lupron shots May 31, 2019 - every 28 days until September 20, 2019. I started my cycle April 5, 2020 (last for 5 days) then two weeks later started again April 24, 2020
Once the Lupron wear off will my menstrual cycle be regular or will it be off and on ? Because I came on last month but not this month.
Hi I’m just completed my endometriosis surgery and with injection Lupron 1 times for 3months stop the period . I took that injection on 11/10/2019 now 3 months already my period still haven’t come yet.. could you advise me pls

Hi,
I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year and underwent laparotomy last oct (2018) and received 2 shots of lupron one in November (2018) and second in February (2019) I used to have regular periods before this. Then got a period last month after 268 days. And this month I am late by 10 days. I was wondering how long does it take for the body to get back to normal and will it get normal. I am loosing hope here and wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I also want to plan for a baby. But this is too much for atm. I have had hot flashes, emotional liability, joints pains, weight gain, during this time apart from the laparotomy incision related pain weakness etc etc. kindly help.
I was given Lupron injections x2 when I was 35 years old for endometriosis. My periods never returned. I am 53 now and take hrt for menopause symptom relief.
Hi, I had a 3-month Lucrin (the name for this drug in The Netherlands) shot to treat fibroids on 9th November 2017 and again on 2nd February 2018. I still have not had a period since - is this normal? Just wondering how long it will take to come back! I suffered from hot flushes and a 4 kg weight gain. As soon as I got injected, I would feel nauseous and irritated for a few days/week. I really did not like being on this drug.
Hi. I am now 30 years old and I started the Lucrin/lupron injection after my operative laparoscopy for endo in april 2017. Took the injection once monthly for 6months. I finished the injection in September 2017, I was bleeding for the first two months and got add back therapy. I experienced hot flashes, night sweats, tiredness, headaches, vomiting, depression, memory loss, nausea, gain alot of weight. I Also lost friends, and my partner left me during the process. Before my last injection, I started bleeding again, thats like August 2017 straight to December 2017. Still experienced the same symptoms mentioned above up to this date. But I have had no bleeding from December 2017 to date. My ob/gyn is not sure why and what's happening. But I am having terrible nerve pains and joint pains. My life is in shambles right now.
I had my first dose of Lupron Depot 11.25 on January 11. I’ve had BAD side effects (muscle aches, joint pain, can’t sleep (I usually sleep great), back pain and major hot flashes. I hate this medicine and can’t wait for it to leave my body. I did not take the add back therapy pills, but I should have. I’m exhausted and can’t wait for this to get out of me. I had endo surgery in December as well. This lupron shot is worse than stage 4 endo for me. I didn’t have any side effects with advanced endo, but have every side effect with this. How long until I start my period again? Any one know? Thanks!!
Hi, I started My lupron injection December 10,2017 for 6 months. The first 3 months were 3.75. Then 1 injection of 11.25. I took my last Norethindrone 5mg Tab May 22, 2018. I literally started my period May 25,2018. I did Not know, I was Going to get my cycle within a few days. I’ve been reading about other females they haven’t gotten their cycle 6 months after the lupron shots.
I had the 3 months lupron in March and haven't had my period yet. I have a lot of bad symptoms and wondering how it will take for my period to return.
I got my first lupron injection at the end od November 2016 i got the 3 month shot and i started bleeding today not even two months later.. why is this?
I have severe endometriosis and had surgery in June 2015 I immediately started on norethindrone for 3mos then 6mos of depot lupron w/norethindrone. My last injection was in February and was told to expect period in 1-2mos from March 1st. I've had a few symptoms, cramping, sore breasts and moodiness. I'm still waiting.
My last lupron injection was January 28 2017 and I just started my period today July 11
I took 2 rounds of Lupron in January 2012 and June 2012. I have not had a period since then, it is now June 2015. Has anyone gone this long after an injection?
How old are you/are you near menopause age at all? 3 years seems like a super long time not to get your period back, wow. I'm nearing the changes so just assumed I'd gone into it when my period didn't return but it just did so I guess my body isn't ready for menopause after all, sigh.
I will be 28 in September. They gave me the injection at 24, I have Endometriosis and had already had surgery, so my doctor at this point suggested the injection. I gained over 60 pounds and suffer from headaches and horrible night sweats. I also have suffered in my intimate life as well.
I had the Lupron injections every month for 6 months starting March 2014 up to August 2014, they were prescribed to me because I had terrible heavy periods due to a mioma. I was 52 and Dr. hoped will helped my period to stop while I will get close to menopause. It has been 15 months already without a period. I had already a Dr. check up and Dr. said that the treatment helped and I was on menopause by this time. I do not know what to think now because in the last two days I started some blood spotting. Hopefully it is part of my menopause stage.
Hi everyone. I took 2 shots of Lupron Depot 3.75 one each... May 16 and June 16. The side effects were horrible. ..severe depression and anxiety and severe muscle and body/bone aches, so my GYN decided to not go on with them. Does anyone knows how long will it take for me to get my period back? My last shot was this past June 16,2015.
I have had cramps and severe low back and pelvis pain for 3 days now... which I will usually get a few days before a period.
Thanks
Any luck yet? I did Lupron for 6 months. My last injection was November 2014 and still have not had my menstrual cycle return. Is there any hope it will?
I stopped taking my birth control I'm beginning of June and middle of July my period finally came back. This is after getting my first injection in March of 2012, and the last in June of 2012. 3.5 years later I got my period back. I was on the Mirena IUD, Nuva ring then a new birth control pill. Letting my body have no horomones really worked. My periods are only 1-2 days, very light bleeding, where a panty liner is all I need.
