No longer than a month but this depends on how long, how much you are using, your health, your BMA and how well your liver matabalizes your blood.
I think 3-5 days
Depending but the longest it can stay in your system is 3 to 4 weeks
Only if your on it for 1 yr. or longer. Usually 2-4 days.
30 days
I don't know!
That's why I'm asking!
Why would you ask me the same question that I'm asking you???
Why? Why? Why?
This is Stupid!
I will never use this site again, Ever!
Dude, look at the most recent comments. I literally found my answer in less than 60 seconds. 3 days, man. Or maybe 5 if you are a heavy user with it built up in your system.
I have been on Vicodin and Morphine prescribed by a pain doctor for 8 years because of a messed up back. I quit 7 days ago and the withdrawal was freaking terrible but it only lasts for two or three days then things start getting better! I had a drug test done 2 days ago that was sent to the lab and I was 100% clean
I know this is a long time since you posted so hope you managed to get off the horrible stuff!
I've had to take 60mg of motphine for over 2 years for pain relief and due to being ill I didn't take it for few days now 4 days after taking the last tablet I still have the pain but the shivers etc have now gone thank god! Will never be taking that again!!
I worked as a phlebotomist for years & did urine drug screens on people on a daily basis & was in direct contact w/people in the lab... although im not professing to be an expert morphine, oxycodone, etc. only stay in your system a max. of 3 days if you havent been doing them on a daily basis for a long time which could make it last longer cuz u have been building it up in your system... the only one that is around 2 weeks is methadone & its an expensive test that usually they didnt used to include in drug screens (for employment that is) the tests are grouped together with different #'s like thc, oxycodone, morphine would have one test number & then if methadone was included its a whole separate # due to cost difference...
however i have been disabled for 5 yrs now & have not worked so who knows tests are always getting improved to make them better & more accurate & no suboxone does not have any opiates in it & ive seen it work wonders for people trying to get off opiates!!! Again im not professing to be an expert or a lab tech!!! Have a good day everyone!!!
Very informative !
Thank you!
Urine 2 to 3 days
Hair up to 90 days

Hope that this helps! :)
My mother has been on metadone and she ran ouy too soon. A friend gave her some morphine and she took it 4 days. Now she is having a fasting blood lab done, 2 weeks later, she is worried and I wasn't sure. Thank You
First of all, no one runs out of methodone without good reason. No disrespect intended, but using morphine as a substitute will land her in a bigger mess than she started. There is a reason the methodone was needed and she should be encouraged to take it right and try really hard not to "run-out".
How can ANYONE say you can't run out of your Med's early? How the hell do you know & truth be known your probably not even on any Pain Med's so how would you know? Well depending on your pain level & I know @ times you may have to take one here or there in between your normal doses, I have Lupus & it's a very painful disease!! And @ times I have to also take one here or there, NOT in an OVERDOSING way!!! Wish you all the best but this post is to the idiot that is saying there's no way you can run out early... How would they know?! I understand because I've done the same thing : ) Take care & God Bless!!!
I agree with the person that says how in the hell can you say no one should run out of medication, Broke my back in 3 places my nec was crushed from C-5 to C-3 so it was fused with plates and fractured right leg in 5 places and artificial knee was required . I had finally found a medication that worked I was taken 50 mgs of Methadone 2 x daily with Soma 3 x and 2.5 mg of clonopin for siezures along with a few other non narcotics well I had to get a new Certified Doctor as the Old one was dropped from my insurance well he took me off methadone put me on Morphine one I am in pain constantly two I had gone back to school earned my archeitectual degree while on Methadone got a job made 100,000.00 ayear well random drug test again it seemed I appeared sleepy alot lately(morphine) when tested on employment application passed test as test for methadone expensive well morphine and I was fired no geez I am handicapped and it is required to be able to live normal life.
Some people don't get it I am willing to hang myself over what they are doing everything I worked so hard for for 8 years is nothing plus I am out of my mind in pain . Tried a small experience Took the 60 mgs of morphine suffered all day. next day took 50 mgs of methadone I had left pain wa gone what can anyone say about this. The funny part is the excuse for morphine is that methadone supresses the respritory system SO DOES MORPHINE. 10 years on methadone 9 of them on the same dose as it took a year to get right as I wanted to take less no problems never an overdose never a missing medication nothing. Morphine it just does not work and it is actually more dangerous as it leads to possible heroin use. The Doctors are full of crap and idiots that judge people in pain are just that idiots grow up and smarten up stop lecturing start understanding.
Honestly I do not understand how anyone runs out of their medication early if they are communicating with their doctor properly. The only way you run out early is by taking more than you are suppose to each month or selling your meds. I have been on Methadone for "Pain Management"... Not to get off of any "Street Drugs". I NEVER ran out! As a matter of fact, I don't run out of any of my meds... I usually will have some left over. And, Yes I am on "Pain Management" now with a different medication. I am a suffer of Fibromyalgia, Spinal Arthritis, Migraines, Osteoarthristis, IBS w/Adhesions, Complications from post opt Gallbladder Surgery, Etc... The list goes on & on! I KNOW PAIN AND IT KNOWS ME!!! You HAVE to have communication with your doctor if you are running out of medication too soon!
No way, i only weigh 130pounds and i am very small, i done morphine 8 days ago and came up positive today. And i attempted to cleanse myself with allot of water and various BS remedies. you never really know, everyone's body is different. Although i strongly believe that morphine lasts longer in your body then many semi-synthetic/synthetic opiates. Because i passed a test 2 days after ingesting 80mg of oxycodone. But in 2 weeks its almost positive that your moms clean. But if she is off the drugs and on Methadone i wouldn't recommend taking morphine.
Anyone can run out of medication early. Sometimes a doctor will tell you to take pain meds as needed. Or one to two at a time every 6-8 hours depending upon what you are taking. It all depends on the person. I know. I am an insomniac who is on Trazodone. They gave me 30 pills of which I was to take one or two every night. (says so on the bottle) This med was supposed to last me a month. It didn't because was taking 2 a night to sleep. So it is entirely feasible for someone to run out of meds early. :)
I have always thought it was the Pharmacy that determined when you were eligible for a refill, if you have them. For instance, you said you were prescribed 30 tabs with directions to take 1-2 tabs at bedtime. Just because its only written for 30 tabs, since your orders were for up to 2 tabs, then u should be eligible for a refill (if one is available without prior consult with your physician) after only 15 days. Unless of course, it was otherwise specified by the provider who issued your Rx that you were permitted refills ONLY every 30 days... OR if you have to deal with one of the many ridiculous health insurance companies who will only fork out their coverage costs once per month/per med, regardless of how the dosage instructions are written.
Anyhow, that's just how it's always been for me anytime I've had scripts for the whole (i.e.) 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours as needed or what not... thought I would share and possibly help out some.
Just to let you know wikipedia is a bad reference site as it can be edited by anyone including you or myself it isn't allowed to be used as areference in any college paper or any rsearch documents so instead of looking up the answer as I do appreciate you trying the source that you qouted is not a viable information site. I am writing you so that you are aware of the issues with wikipedia so that you don't get yourself in trouble one day.
Does extended release morphine pills stay in your system longer that other morphine??
methadone is a terrible drug and if your mom is running out then she is not taking it way the doctor wants her to and you can overdose on methadone easier than heroin or pain medications so I hope is stops over taking her medications!
I had oral surgery April 22 and i had 3 of my wisdom teeth extracted. Today, April 26 i took a drug test for a job. and i was cleared from all drugs except Morphine. so im thinking Morphine was one of the drugs administered to me during my surgery. Today is Day 5 for me since the surgery.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE!!!
JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!
take your own inventory!!!
(If your mind isn't open , then keep your mouth shut too!)
Answer questions without passing judgment even if it is light weight under the table. If you can't do that then don't comment at all. People make mistakes and it takes a lot to even pit yourself out there and ask the question. However, if more people start passing judgment then the questions will stop and so will the sharing of knowledge. Knowledge is power and the more we have it the better for our society. Please, everyone just answer questions without passing judgment.
thank you Dr. Rightious
