you see I have anxiety and depression and I am on lorazepam which is a benzodiazepam and I want to get off of it but I need something over the counter that will help me with it so that's why I asked the question when I heard about benadryl. Or is there any other OTC that helps?
I heard that you could take benadryl for anxiety attacks is that true?

Antihistamines can help with anxiety. Chlortrimeton is another one that might help. The old antihistamines work better for this then the newer ones.

thank you very much for your answer and your quick response to my friend request. There's times where I find it hard to make friends with people that have chronic illnesses like I do and so I just thank you again for your accepting me as a friend and giving me good complete and honest answers to my question.

benadryl helps me sleep I don't take it in the day because it makes me too drowsy but I assume it helps with anxiety. And I agree its very hard to make friends with people when you have Ilneses that people don't understand
