4. You have to wait 7 days before having unprotected sex with new birth control.
5. Bleeding is NOT a sign of pregnancy.
6. If you are on birth control and taking it correctly you are safe all the time. You have less then a 1% chance of pregnancy.
7. You don't need a condom to prevent pregnancy when you're on hormonal birth control, therefore you do NOT need to take plan B or any of those meds, if one breaks.
8. You can't use Plan B or any emergency contraceptive on a regular basis, it isn't meant for birth control, its for emergencies. It isn't as effective as regular birth control and it will mess up your cycle.
9. Bleeding is NOT a sign of pregnancy.
10. If you are on birth control and the dr puts you on an antibiotic you need to use a condom for the time you're on it and a week after it stops.
11. The apps that predict ovulation are only telling average believe it or not, only about 30% of women are average. We don't even ovulate at the same time every month, so using it for birth control is foolish.

Gotta add, hormonal birth control lessens your uterine lining. This gives you less to "bleed". Its not unusual to even skip a period once in a while. If you miss 2 in a row you should call your dr.
Added 25 July 2014:A brown discharge is nothing more then old blood that needs to be gotten rid of. It means nothing and is not harmful.

Can I use plan b each month I have unprotected sex???
I started taking birth control pills about 2 days after my period ended, and I read that it will take 7 days for them to work and actually prevent pregnancy. However, doesn't birth control stop ovulation from even happening? I was wondering, what if I was already about to ovulate when I started taking birth control pills? For example if I took birth control on day 8 and I ovulate around day 12-15, so I would only have gone through 4-7 pills by that day. Would the pills still stop ovulation from happening? If they don't and I still ovulate, will I still get pregnant if I have sex after 7 pills? For example what if I ovulate on day 15, which is the day I take my 7th pill. Sorry for all the questions! Just not sure how it all works and would like to hear about how it actually prevents pregnancy if taken after my period has already ended.
Sorry if I sound ridiculous but I have a question: if I had intercourse with my boyfriend and he urinated after and then we had intercourse again, and the next day I start on birth control pills for the first time, will I get pregnant? The day we had intercourse was about the 7th day of my period. It might sound gross but hear me out, I was under the assumption that my period was over because there was very little blood the day before and the tampon I used overnight night came out mostly blood-free. Today is 2 days after and I have just started taking birth control and I'm unsure if I should take the emergency contraceptive as well (don't wanna take it for no reason, we all know it's pricey). Please help me! I'm new to these drugs and don't know very much about them other than what I read on the box and online.
I need to know asap if I should take the pill as according to a fertility calculator my fertility window begins in 3 days (of course I know it's only a rough estimation). Thank you for your time!
Two days ago I had unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me twice. This was the first time we had sex and although I am not a virgin, he is the biggest I have ever been with. I am on the birth control pill (junal fe) and am about halfway through my pack. About halfway through intercourse, it started to hurt really bad so we slowed down and took a break but didn't stop. I was sore the first day but it didn't hurt anymore after that. During sex, my boyfriend noticed a small amount of blood but since then it has gotten a lot worse. I have very heavy cramping and heavy spotting (about 2 tampons a day). Is something wrong? Could I be pregnant?
Quick question, I am on Levlen Ed and have read the same amount of bad reviews for as I have read good reviews and I am bit confused. A lot have girls have said they have gotten pregnant on this pill whilst others are saying they haven't. So I was wondering if anyone would know how effective Levlen Ed is overall and does it have a higher chance of getting pregnant on it than other pills? Due to a lot of women saying they have experienced pregnancy on it I am not too sure on whether or not I should trust the Levlen Ed when it comes to sex.
Hello my boyfriend came inside me on Saturday does that mean I'm going go to be pregnant ?
23 male. It's silly, but does anyone have any tips to relax and put faith into the pill? We had unprotected sex, and my gf has been on bc for six months and takes it at the same time every day. Its been over six weeks and she hasnt had a single symptom, but i keep stressing about it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Really, I mean it. I'm also sorry if I posted somewhere I shouldn't.
Hello, not sure if you can help but may as well give it a go. I stopped taking my pill (ive been on the pill for just more than a month) as my partner and I are trying for a baby, we have had unprotected sex with ejaculation - 4 days later i started my period (my period is 1 week early)
Question is;
1) how long before you can get pregnant after stopping the pill
2) is there any chance you can bleed, like your period, but be in the early stages of pregnancy? (Only because I'm a week early, not sure if its from stopping the pill? Im very regular with my period even before starting the pill)
Thanks in advanced
I just have a quick question. What are the chances I do get pregnant while on birth control? I started my birth control Sunday after my period ended the week of. I've only taken it twice and I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on the second day. This is the second time im using birth control pill (lessons) after the 2 months that I've used it first before. If there are side effects what are they and if I continue to finish my pack for this month? Should i? I dont think I should take emergency contrwithaception while on birth control but I'm afraid I've made a mistake I'd really appreciate the help. Thank you.
Hello a little help please !!
In Sept. My period came on 9/25 in Oct. I took plan b on 10/7 &&my period came on 10/21 this month I had sex on 11/10 he ejaculated in me 3x assuming my period is going to come the same time last month means I had sex 12 days before my period. My period cycle is 32-35 days. Can I be pregnant? Idk when I exactly ovulate I heard if your period is 32days or pass that you ovulate late. Could I be pregnant?
Hi I'm 18 and me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago for a few minutes before putting a condom on. On Tuesday (3 days ago), I noticed light pink blood which I thought was my period a week early. This lasted maybe an hour. I've never spotted before and I have looked it up and saw this was a sign of pregnancy. I just finished my first term of nursing school and I'm really stressed out so maybe that has something to do with it. Me and my boyfriend are both not ready to even think about pregnancy and I'm really freaking out. Please respond soon. My period isn't due for another 4 days and the wait is awful.
there was also no ejaculation so I didn't think to try plan b. Thank you!
What happened ?
I got Nexplanon inserted September 11 and on September 18 I had unprotected intercourse with my boyfriend. Along with Nexplanon we had used spermicide. He did came in me. On September 28th I started spotting brown, pink and red ( sometimes a little sometimes a lot when I wiped but never a lot on pad). This lasted until Oct 10, making it spotting for 12 days. A week later on Oct 18, i got my period. Could the spotting be implantation bleeding or side effect from Nexplanon?
@kaismama. Ive been on birth control for over a year now. I might have missed one pill last month (I can't remember) but I had my period then started a new set of birth control Sunday September 20th at about 9:00 at night. I threw up from a virus twice Monday September 21st at about 11:00 in the morning. I dont know if that would be considered a missed pill but Ive been told several times that it wouldnt. I had unprotected sex the following Thursday September 24th. He doesnt know if he ejaculated in me or not. I took a plan b about 4 1/2-5 hours after unprotected sex. But would I be ovulating at that point? Plus I didnt know if 4 active pills in that new pack would be enough to protect me from pregnancy. Should I be worried Im pregnant or am I just stressing myself out over nothing?
I took my birth control in the morning but my boyfriend ejaculated inside me the same night and I missed my pill the next morning could I get pregnant like that?
I've been on the pill for well this will be 4 months after I finish this package. But the days I starts a new package are on Friday. But I was late to getting my new package that the next day I two the one I miss as soon as I got my pack and then the other one and the regular time. Because I like the days I start taking my pill and I take them at 12:00pm. but last night my boyfriend came over and we had unprotected sex if I don't take my pill today would that help me get pregnant? Or would I have had to been off of my pills? because we're wanting to try to have a baby.
