Gotta add, hormonal birth control lessens your uterine lining. This gives you less to "bleed". Its not unusual to even skip a period once in a while. If you miss 2 in a row you should call your dr.
Added 25 July 2014:A brown discharge is nothing more then old blood that needs to be gotten rid of. It means nothing and is not harmful.

Hi, my boyfriend and I had sex 2 weeks ago and I just started birth control a week and a half before we had sex and he came inside me twice. I’m on week 4 and im on day 2 of taking the sugar pills and I haven’t bled yet, im scared.
Some of y'all don't need to be having sex with such silly questions. Just my opinion.
Looking for some different perspectives!!!
I’ve been on a low dose pill for seven years. I’ve been move to a high dose pill. I just started this higher dose two weeks ago. I had protected sex two days ago with a condom, we also used the withdrawal method. I’ve been having brown spotting which I’ve read is a sign of ovulation. Is it possible that I ovulated on this new pill bc my body isn’t used to it yet??? Or is it just old blood? I took the plan b pill today just in case, but I’ve ready it won’t be successful if I’ve already ovulated. What are my odds in ovulating on the new pill if I started t immediately after my old pack and I take it religiously???
So, I know you said; You need penetration to get pregnant. But my situation might be a little difficult. We have been fooling around for quite some time and I just started hormonal birth control last month! However, if we were in the shower, and I was performing on him with my legs spread and pre-ejaculation were to drip down and onto my vagina, what kind of chance is this? Never been penetrated but I think I need anxiety medicine instead :D!! Anyways, what do you mean, that pregnancy requires penetration because the internet basically says that kissing a penis can make you pregnant.
hi i have intercoures with bf and itwas with condom on 19th july.on 18th july i had finished my periods .Itook plan b after 6hours of intercoures and i got bleeding after one week like regular periods .now its 21august i still didnt get my peeiods though it was due on 14august even i had pregnancy tests that falls negative three times bt m having cramping and tody 21 august i just god light red sport once nothing ..im worried is iam pregnant??plllls reply pls im one week late
Hi so i'm somewhat young and I got implanon maybe the 2nd week of May this year, well a few days afterwards I started bleeding like a period and its been like that everyday for so far like 3 months and its now August. So what you are saying is that I cannot be pregnant since i'm still bleeding? please clear this up for me. Thank you
You are one of the unlucky ones where the implant causes continuous bleeding. You cannot (almost 100%) get pregnant while your uterus is actively shedding.
If I were you I would have the implant removed and use oral birth control.
I took a pill about an hour late and ive been have some breakthrough bleeding, more than any spotting. Am I still protected or should I be using a backup protection?
My girlfriend and I had sex two hours after she had taken the 7th consecutive pill. I may have "leaked" in her and I am curious if she can still be pregnant this way even after taking the 7th pill.
Does light pink spotting mean I'm pregnant??
Just want to throw it out there and see if anyone has information for me.
I've been taking Lo loestrin fe for years now and I'm very good about taking it daily, but last night when I went to take my pill I realized that the pill from the day before it was still in the pack. I freaked out because I wasn't sure which day I had missed so I doubled up but was worried and went and got Plan B. I'm going to be taking my birth control like normal from here on out but my question is how long after going about my normal schedule am I protected again?
i had sex about two months ago. i used a condom that didnt break and i was on birth control but i did miss one or two pills throughout the pack. ive gotten my period twice since but i know you can still get your period while pregnant even though its rare. ive been freaking out recently because ive been experiencing symptoms such as swollen breasts nausea and just about every other pregnancy symptom after i learn that its a symptom. i feel bloated but i cant tell if that's because birth control, pms (its supposed to start towards the end of this week), or if im tricking myself into thinking im having symptoms. i know anxiety can cause my stomach to be upset. these symptoms have been occurring for a while even a week after i had sex which i know is unlikely to experience so many symptoms that early. am i just freaking myself out or is it a good possibility? please help ive been worried about this for quite some time.
I am hoping someone can help me out cause I am worried about my ability to get pregnant even though I am on birth control. So I started birth control (depo shot) 2 weeks ago, but after 8 days being on it I was put on an antibiotic that stated that it may affect birth control. So I stopped taking the antibiotic because my cold went away and three days after I stopped taking the antibiotic my boyfriend ejaculated in me 4 times throughout the weekend. When we finished having sex that last time, I got my period right after. I know that means I am in the clear for being pregnant but now I am worried if that means there's a problem with me not being able to get pregnant, or if that is just the birth control doing its job?
I took levonorgestrel, My Way 20 minutes after having sex with both sides of a condom during the 3rd day of my period (August 27). I started taking birth control pills on the day my period ended on August 31. It's been almost 3 weeks since the night I had sex and I've been bloated mostly in the top abdominals, my breasts feel thicker and I've been having brown to red, bloody sticky discharge for a week (since Sept. 7). Does anyone have any idea what's happening? This was my first time taking a morning pill.
I recently had sex on my period but I used a condom and I'm birth control is there a possibility that I can get pregnant because my mind is going crazy?
