I have only taken 3 of the 300 mg. Tonight was the 3rd each time I have gotten a bad headache. Tonight my headache is so severe it's scary. I am not taking no more.
I started taking gabapentin about a month ago for nerve pain. My doctor prescribed 100mg at bedtime, and I can increase the dosage up to 400mg. I'm taking 300mg right now, and if I wake up during the night, I can take 1 more 100mg. Problem I'm having is blurred vision, and a constant pounding headache. Will these side effects go away after a certain amount of time? These headaches will not go away, no matter what I take for them. It's affecting my life in a negative way.
I started gabapentin a few days ago. 100mg twice a day. I took 100mg once a day and I'm on the 4th day. This medication made me feel calm but drunk and dizzy. I had to stop this medication because of the migraines and bad side effects it's causing. I am prone to migraines but I can tell these migraines are medicine induced. I'm 36 hours into stopping this medication and I still feel lousy. I'll be asking my doctor for Paxil or Nortriptyline to replace the gabapentin as my anxiety is so bad I can't leave the house. I hope others don't experience what I did... It's awful. Good luck.
It did for me, 3-days straight.
I had terrible headaches, always in the back of my head. Day 1 that i took 100 mg i woke up to zero pain in the back of my head. Day 2 same thing except a slight headache in the front of my head. Day 3 I have a terrible headache in the front that seems to radiate to the back now. I just tried 200 mg but no relief. Any suggestions?
I started taking this a couple of mths ago starting @ 100mg 2x day then 3x with no headache. Then to 200mg a.m, 100mg noon, 200mg bedtime. Now I'm @ 300mg 3x a day for a week now & have had a terrible headache every day. I'm very prone to migraines anyway so I'm wondering if this will go away the longer I take it. Can anyone say they experienced this too & how long b4 they subsided. Thank you
Gabapentin affected everyone different just like most meds. Alot of people have side effects for the first few weeks than everything is good. I have been on Gab for 8 months it's is helping me, I take it for nerve damage pain in my right foot.
Actually the first night I took the med at 100 mgs, yes I woke up with a doozy headache as well. have not had one sence. I am only on day three and tonight I am to take two tabs at 100 each. I am more worried about the weight gain, and possible water retention. good luck. May I ask what you are taking this for??
