For years I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety, I was on meds for a while but decided to get off for the possibility of going into the military. I was off for 6 months and realized just how much I would cry and get anxious and feel sick all the time, so I decided to get back on. I got prescribed 50mg, the very first day I took it I lost all feeling, I felt so numb inside. I lost my libido, decreased appetite and caused insomnia. The next day I started taking 25 instead, I’m now on the 3rd day of taking meds. I just want to know will this numbness go away, I don’t want it to affect my relationship with others and how I feel on a daily. But overall I do feel better, just the side effects suck! What should I do?
Does the feeling of numbness and emptiness go away while taking Zoloft?

I started taking Zoloft for major depression in April. At first I was taking 50mg, but now I'm up to 150mg. I thought and felt the same things you are. The side effects do suck - I considered stopping as well - but they subside in about a month. I promise they go away. My appetite is normal, I'm getting 7-8h of sleep a night, and I'm happy and hopeful for the future. As for libido, mine is naturally low but after the side effects subsided it actually increased. In the meantime, try some healthy coping mechanisms (if I had any I would write them here, but all I can suggest is googling them). If the side effects do persist, I would suggest talking to your doctor; they may want to change the dose or even the medication.
I hope this brings you a bit of relief :)
