When I added abilify it starterd.working in About 3.days. But I was already on effexor.

The TV advertisements I have seen recently indicate that Abilify is used to help what you are already taking. Haven't heard, yet, of anyone just taking Abilify. Its pretty new, and like a lot of meds, the more it is used, the more uses they find for it

Everyones' body is different, but I started abilify about 2 months ago, and it has helped me more than anything has in 15 years.

WOW thats great!! Better than anything in 13 yrs, i sure hope you are able to enjoy more of life now. You didn't mention any side effects, and I am hoping you didn't have any. So good to hear a success!!

Kaw06, glad u mentioned this, I was going to but had blabbed too much already. That is awesome the Abilify clicked with you. My doctor added Lamictal to my Viibryd in mid June and after 2 months I really have not noticed any improvement. However, there have not been any bad side effects.
I took Effexor in 2007 for 5 months and went off it when I lost my Rx plan. I have often wondered about revisiting it. I was only 6 months into sobriety from alcohol and now that it's been 7.5 years and no success with Viibryd, I am wondering about trying one that worked well for me in the past, like Zoloft, Celexa or Effexor. The Effexor is pretty high grade stuff since it works on both serotin & norepren (sp, lol).
I believe an add-on is becoming more and more common.

Some meds work faster than others. And you have to take in consideration several other things such as meds you are already taking, or if you have a problem with absorption. Not every one will have the same reaction time as others. It truly is trial and error. Have to start some where, and give it time to work. If there was a really fast acting anti-depressant, it would be so popular everyone would know about it. We all want a quick fix, but must let the meds do whatever they are going to do in each of us. PLEASE let me know if you find something that works really fast. I need help, too!! Be well as can be...
