Will it take less time to have an effect because I've been on an antidepressant before?
Many thanks
Just come off paroxetine and gone onto duloxetine. SSRI's don't seem to have an effect on me

Hi, Lee!
Unfortunately it really won't make a difference. How long were you on the paroxetine and did you try increasing dosages? Have you been on other SSRI's too? What are you taking them for?
Don't give up... there are some other options that you can discuss with your doctor.
Sorry for all the questions above... just trying to get a little more details.
Best regards,
The doctor I deal with doesn't care doesn't listen to what you tell him
Been on fluoxetine full dose no affect.paxil up to 40mg on it since end if march came if as I was having no benefit tried sertraline to many side effects scared me, venlafaxine worked for a few years put pooped out hoping snri worked it will hopefully work again
I loved my Effexor (venlafaxine) but it "pooped out" after 7 years. I hope the SNRI will work for you!

PS, You need to find a new doctor... preferably a psychiatrist who knows how to prescribe and manage medications.
I loved venlafaxine too was a good drug wish it still worked hopefully duloxetine will work thanks wildcat
