I am currently taking 2mg of Abilify for a mood disorder, but it is not helping me with anxiety, what Antidepressant can I take that doesn't cause too much side effects and also no weight gain .
I am not sure if Zoloft is safe with Abilify but I heard so many good reviews.
What Anti-depressant / SSRI can I take with Abilify?

I take Wellbutrin with ability and it works wonders for me.
Riverxo; yes Jamie is right also I was on both Zoloft 100mg 2 in the morning for a long time and was about to give up and the doctor added THE Abilify and it made a world of difference for me for quite some time. Most people they use the Abilify as a stabilizer or to help level us out when you're already fair on another medication chuck1957
Hiu, Riverxo! Almost every antidepressant can safely be taken with Abilify although there my be some initial dizziness, drowsiness, and lack of concentration for the first few days. I've taken Abilify for over 4 years first with Lexapro then with Effexor.and I've had no interactions at all.
As for weight, ALL antidepressants have the potential to cause weight gain and an equal potential to cause weight loss. It entirely depends on your personal metabolism and only, on average, about 8% of patients reported clinically significant weight loss. You hear many horror stories but remember the 92% of patients who aren't posting, *Hey, guys, guess what? No weight gain*. :-)
The same goes for all side effects which occur very rarely.
Good luck to you and my wishes that you feel better soon!
Should read, * reported clinically significant weight gain*.
Hi Riverxo-
I was told that Abilify is an add on that can help the effectiveness of antidepressants. Every antidepressant can be different in how it effects each individual. Do your research and talk to your doctor about what will be best for you.
Hope you find something that works :)
