Currently taking 75mg a day for anxiety and it’s helping. My doctor is increasing my dosage to 150mg in 2 weeks. Has this dose helped anyone else more and how has it made you feel?

After years of them increasing
my doses to 225 every time I went in with an issue. I just want you to know that I spent a year of detoxing each level of dosage and I’m now on 75mg and doing well. It is one of the worst drugs to get off of. Just a word of caution. I went through excruciating mental pain. I actually got to 37.5 and I was just so tired of what I was going through, I went back to 75 mg. I’m not sure if I will ever try again because it was just so miserable. For whatever this is worth, I wish you the best!
Hi, eddrose!
Everybody responds differently to medications like these and so there's no set effective dosage for every person. Some do well on the lower doses and others need higher ones.
I'm highly resistant to drugs and so I needed an increase to 225mg/day and I felt great. You should talk with your doctor and if they think it's appropriate to increase your dose based on your progress
then you should certainly consider it. But if the 75mg is controlling your symptoms to your satisfaction then let your doctor know that.
After the increase (you'll be doubling your dose) you might experience some new or recurrent side effects but they're generally mild and resolve quickly.
I am also resistant to antidepressants. Any tips? I am on mirtazapine and escitalopram.
