Has anyone been prescribed the immediate release tablets to be taken once a day? I was given the 37.5 immediate release once a day but most articles I'm reading state the immediate release are supposted to be taken 2-3 times daily so I am confused.

Answers
Hi, Roberta!
This is from the literature here:
"DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Initial Treatment
The recommended starting dose for Effexor is 75 mg/day, administered in two or three divided doses, taken with food.
Some patients may need a starting dose of 37.5 mg per day, taken for 4 to 7 days. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed and tolerated."
Your doctor may have started you on this lower dose to be sure you can tolerate the medication well before increasing your dosage but I think you should call them to clarify your instructions.
