I came off duloxetine a few years ago. My doctor told me how to come off of it, however, I found that it was much too quick for me. He had me going to lower doses by a week or two. I needed to lower the doses by 4 to 6 weeks. Make sure you communicate with your doctor often about how you are doing. Wishing you the best.
I found that many doctors try to taper people off Cymbalta too quickly. I tapered off much slower. I experienced emotional blunting when taking Cymbalta. Everything came back to normal once I slowly tapered off Cymbalta completely.
masso is absolutely right about discontinuation. Please consult with your doctor and ignore advice you'll get from non-professionals on the internet.
Best regards and good luck to you.
You must stop gradually under medical supervision. The Dr. that prescribed this antidepressant must help you with a discontinuation schedule for this medication.
Do not attempt to do it on your own, contact your Dr..
Stopping duloxetine abruptly may result in one or more of the following withdrawal symptoms: irritability, nausea, feeling dizzy, vomiting, nightmares, headache, and/or paresthesias (prickling, tingling sensation on the skin). Depression is also a part of bipolar illness.
