Isuffer from a head and back pain from a car accident and being severely beaten by my ex-husband and a doctor that I saw at the ER for a really bad headache gave me 2 of those pills to take at home if I needed it after they treated me with a shot for my headache. But it is something I have never heard of & I don't like to take anything I don't know about.
Does the medication meloxicam work for headaches or back pain?

I’m on meloxicam for osteoarthritis and necrosis. I am on 2 months on and 3 months off. I definitely notice the difference when I am off in regard to pain levels and find I need to take much lower levels of pain relief during the time when I am on the drug. Hope this helps your questions. Lisa
I have lower back pain at times will this help
my doctor prescribed meloxicam for me for possible arthritis. Right - Ill try it see if it helps... Im about the age i could be suffering from it right?
Results came back - My knees are a little better, by back and feet are same as before however my headache that I have had every single day for the last few years HAS gone!!!
Its a NSAID I know that and I had been taking ibuprofen for headaches - cant take both same time but whatever the cause of my headache - this works!
That being said it is foolish to think it will work on anybody, however it has led my to wonder what keeps on giving me these headaches and why does this work. Only guess I might have is bad teeth (ongoing for years and years); Meloxicam is a NSAID that reduces swelling in the joints - possibly teeth? therefore easing a headache?? its a theory but whatever the reason I am feeling much better... now for my back & feet which must be some other reason lol
I currently use this medication I don't believe it has ever helped me with a headache, but possibly that is because they are from medicine. This med should be helpful enough to withstand minor pain. Also this helps with inflammation, in which will relieve some of the pressure that is put on sensitive and or hurtful parts of joints and other parts of the body. Hope this is helpful. I wouldn't say its a direct pain medicine but... the parts of the body that this helps will relieve some pain.As always check with your DOC.
Jojolpearson,
Meloxicam is the generic name for Mobic. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory/nonopioid analgesic. It's good for pain, but it isn't meant to be used daily for long periods of time. If you do take it, make sure to drink a full glass of water to get it down and don't take anything with alcohol, aspirin, or acetaminophen in it because it will lessen the pill's effectiveness. In short, it's a little stronger than Tylenol and has little chance of becoming addictive. Hope this helps.
Its supposed to be good for back pain but i dont think its any better than ibuprofen.
