I believe by law, if dismissed, the Dr must give you a 30 day supple of the meds he/ she has been subscribing for you. That's the law here I'm NJ..
To allow you some time to find another Doctor.
You should have no problem filling it if it is a written prescription that he gave you early, to hold on to until time to fill, as my PM does.
yes, you should be able to get the refill that is left unless he happened to call the pharmacy and canceled all refills but I doubt they would do that. It is already written and in your record and I doubt he would have cancelled any refills but it is possible depending on why you were dismissed. If you were under suspicion for diversion, he may call to cancel your refill. You can use this last refill to wean off or to get you by until you find a new Dr.
If you have a refill, and not a new script, is the drug controlled. In some states you have to have a new script every time. What med are you talking about?
Depends what state your in. You shouldn't have a problem bc usually they don't give refills on narcotics. Depends what the reason why you got dismissed.
