Ive been on the Depo shot for 3 years Now. For the last week I've had brown discharge/light blood and this has never happened before for such a long period of time.
Ive not had a proper period since being on the Depo shot so is it my body clearing itself out or should i go and get it checked out? I have stomach cramps etc so was wondering if it is just my body cleansing itself but I'm still unsure as it's been a week.
I know i would usually have brown discharge after a period on no contraception but I find it odd how this has all of a sudden happened.
Please if anyone could give any advice that would be amazing :)

Your body is telling you it needs a break.
According to the Manufacturer, Depo Provera should not be used as long term contraception, unless you have no other option. In that situation you'd need to take breaks every couple of years. You also need to have a bone MRI scan, after a significant length of time on it, to monitor your bones.
This is because Depo Provera thins your bones, causing osteoporosis.
It's also important to take a good quality calcium supplement, that also contains both magnesium & vitamin D in the correct ratios, whilst you're using Depo. This may help with repairing or preventing damage.
There are a lot of other risks that can come with this Drug, too.
