It didn't for me. I had to use lube, but even then, the Depo Provera caused vaginal soreness, too. I had to be off it quite a while before I got rid of the dryness & pain. I was on it 18 years.

It can take several shots (2-3) until your body has adjusted. It may go away with time.
I have found that my side effects are the least right after getting a shot and sometimes get worse when I am due for the next.
