I've been on Depo for 5 months. I'm very worried about pregnancy and have generalized anxiety disorder which doesn't help my worries. My boyfriend and I have used condoms and have gone without but he has never ejaculated inside of me. What is safe and what isn't? I personally hate condoms and prefer without but don't know if I am really truly safe from pregnancy if he pulls out or ejaculates inside of me.
I'm on Depo. Do we need condoms or is pulling out good enough?

Hi depo injection was very protective when I was using it and I never fell pregnant but to be honest with you I believe it was effected my body so much to the point where I can actually fall pregnant now. I was on depo for nearly 3/4 years and now I have had sex several times with no contraceptive and not pregnant. If you are happy on it like I was it is great but I really believe it is ruining our bodies if you want kids in the future.
Sorry can't fall pregnant
You don't need any other protection against pregnancy, as long as you get your shots on time.
Will having him pull out lessen any chances of pregnancy or are the chances the same if he pulls out or not? I understand the odds of becoming pregnant on depo is small, but I am young enough were a baby would cause a lot of problems.
It might reduce the risk, but the risk is so negligible, you've nothing to worry about. Depo Provera is the most effective of all the hormonal contraceptives. As long as you get your shots on time, you've nothing to worry about.
If you remember your shot every 12-13 weeks then you are safe from pregnancy and don't need to use condoms too. The depo-provera shot uses the hormone progestin specifically to stop pregnancy. Increased progestin prevents pregnancy (1) by preventing ovulation and (2) by making cervical mucus thicker to prevent the sperm from getting to the egg.
Condoms are still important to use for STD or STI prevention as depo-provera does not protect you from these.
